Advent Book Giveaway!

**WINNERS: Deena and Barbara!**

I’m so excited to offer my first book giveaway here at The Loveliest Hour. For a girl who loves books, this is only natural!

So, I have two books to offer, and I know you’ll love them! They are written by my new friends over at CatholicMom.com, Lisa Hendey and Sarah Reinhard. Both will help you make your way through Advent prayerfully, helping you and your family remember ‘the reason for the season!’ Advent is also a wonderful time to introduce the joy of prayer into your family. These books will certainly help you do just that.

Here is a little summary of each book:

O Radiant Dawn by Lisa Hendey

O Radiant Dawn: 5 Minutes Prayers Around the Advent Wreath by Lisa Hendey is a daily prayer book created for use around an Advent wreath in Catholic households of any configuration. It contains twenty-eight devotional services, each designed to last only five minutes—an achievable goal for busy families. The single-page service includes: 1) a simple candle lighting, 2) a brief scripture passage paired with a reflection question for adults and older children and one for younger children, 3) silence, and 4) a closing prayer. Rooted in scriptural images of light, O Radiant Dawn can be used in family prayer year after year.

With its many Advent wreath prayers, O Radiant Dawn is an ideal gift for parish-wide distribution and faith sharing groups. It can also be used as a part of an Advent retreat.

Welcome Baby Jesus by Sarah Reinhard

Advent is a season almost forgotten by the secular world. With new toys and electronics available, why should we focus on this time of anticipation? Most everyone cannot wait for Christmas morning to arrive, but is it for the right reason? Sarah A. Reinhard designed Welcome Baby Jesus for you and your family to capture some of what’s intended by the liturgical season of Advent. Each day has a Scripture quote from the Sunday gospel readings, a brief reflection, and an action to complete. With each passing Sunday, your Advent Wreath will grow brighter, your family’s faith will grow stronger, and the true meaning of this season will be discovered.
