It’s warmed up a bit and my little girls have been having fun in the backyard. Just like I used to do.
mud food, sticks, old pots,
wood, weathered tarps, and strange things taped and hung from the roof…
{funny}
often, my funnies could also be categorized as {real}s.
here, we have my aforementioned snow-globe box, still sitting on the piano, waiting to be put away. But, they are in good company, joined by a manatee and gold lame wallet full of tooth fairy money.
and below. my baby sleeps with a lollypop in her mouth.

Why I don’t let my avid almost teenage reader EVER read out of the ‘Young Adult’ section of any bookstore. This is just sad. And, I think of the many well-intentioned moms and dads who, trying to encourage their child to read, grab a few titles off these shelves.
As an alternative, attempting to balance out the ick with beauty, my college friend, Fr. Brian McMaster has recently published a book.
Totus Tuus: A Consecration to Jesus Through Mary with Blessed John Paul II.
And, I’m hosting a giveaway, so you can have one!!! Yay Fr. Brian. You can read of our long and funny history, and enter the giveaway here.
Fr. Brian, so proud of his shirt…
(can you tell he’s a the Vocations Director for our wonderful Diocese of Austin?)
our college days… :)
Back then – great Catholic friends at Texas A&M. Today? Two mamas and two priests! Fr. Brian Eilers and Fr. Brian McMaster.

OK…I LOVE your friend Fr. Brian’s shirt. LOVE IT!! Too funny. I will have to check out his book. I made my consecration four years ago and my husband made his this past year.
Have a great week!!
