O happy feast of St. Clare of Assisi!
My beloved patroness and heavenly friend.
A noble teenager, who ran away from home in the dark of night to cut off her hair and join St. Francis in his service to the Church.
When vicious raiders were steps away from attacking her convent, a very sick Clare crawled to the wall and held up Jesus in the Eucharist and prayed, “O Lord, protect these Sisters whom I cannot protect now!”
The soldiers fled in fear.
She was brave and bold and obedient and faithful.
St. Clare of Assisi, may we be more like you.
Pray for Us.
